Grand Lake Friday 15th
Well the weather today is not what we would call summery, but it is definitely what living in the mountains is all about. Hopefully it will clear up for the weekend. I have not blogged since the Fraser Valley River Days. We had a lot of interested rowers stop by on the Saturday and they got to try out our recreational rowers in the little pond, Thank you Rendezvous Colorado for the use of your pond. We raised $45 for the M.S. Society thanks to everyone's donations. We even had the Perkins family back to row on Grand Lake the next day which was neat to see them again. So thank you Maria at the Winter park Fraser Valley Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to display our row boats.

Wednesday Aug 6.
It was another beautiful morning on Grand Lake. We had the Iwanski family out on 2 Yoles with the girls as passengers viewing the lake in style. Janet came back for her second row. It is fun talking to people as they try and get better with their rowing such as having 1 stronger arm or just keeping those oars on the water!!! We all improve every time we go out and that is the neat thing. Here is a picture of the Iwanskis!! Row long and prosper!

Grand Lake Colorado Rowers
Well today saw 8 new rowers and a 1 accomplished high school rower from Oklahoma. It is really neat seeing traditional rowers get in our Turbos and rip up Grand Lake. There was a Grand Lake Yacht Club race today for Regatta week involving the older wooden motor launches. It was fun watching them race the whole length of Grand Lake. We rowers handled their wake just fine with our extremely stable recreational row boats. We are enjoying nice 70-80 degree weather while Denver and the front range cooks in 100 degrees!!!

Saturday July 26th
What a night!! We had our Grand Opening last night. Met a bunch of new friends and welcomed a lot of our "old" friends back. Grand Lake turned on a lovely night with the the odd gust of wind to spice things up a bit. We had a bunch of eager new rowers taking advantage of our free demo night. Again the Virus Cataram proved to be a perfect introductory boat. Have to say when Noah from Virus Boats designed the Cataram he absolutely got the design right. Having a totally stable platform means everyone could totally focus on getting their rhythm quickly and also enjoy the whole process. Our guests included Luke and Ginny from Humphreys Grand Lake, Tim and Sarah from Mountain Hub Grand Lake, Dianne Butler from Destinations West Grand Lake, Marjorie from Jackstraw Arts Grand Lake, and a whole bunch of other business owners from in and around Grand Lake. New customers Gretta and Jared returned early this morning on my advice of yesterday and got to experience the tranquility of the lake in the morning, so gratifying to see a couple enjoying a new adventure together, makes our job so worth-it.

Well Grand Lake survived another Buffalo BBQ weekend. There was lots of music, food and a parade. The Mountain Row Tech crew went into the parade which was a load of fun with help from our friends Peter, Steph and Noah Ralph. The weather was hot and fine all weekend. We had some new rowers Claudia, Katherine and Sarah Short. The young girls took Katarams and Claudia had a Yole and they did great, they even had to row back through a Yacht race which was quite tricky. We also had Shawn who really enjoyed it all, even had to come back for a quick early morning row. The Rice family were regular visitors to Grand Lake but had never rowed. All 5 of them did a great job and the photo is of them in their boats. Our Grand Opening is this Friday July 25th from 4-8pm. Talk to you all later, Simon, Candy, Nick and Erin

Beautiful morning rowing session
Terry popped by and we assisted setting her boat into Grand Lake. After a few inital wobbles climbing into her boat, she leaned into her oars and glided effortlessly out into the mirror surface of Grand Lake.
After a few more cups of espresso, Nick and I finally lured Dave out onto the lake. We made the our around the edge, half way I left Nick and Dave to continue the tour. They were hoping to get a glimps of the shy moose at the far end of the lake. Nick confessed he saw nothing, yet Dave insisted the moose is out there. Keep looking...
Rowing early in the moring is peaceful, not a single ripple in the water.
